Due to all the cold weather, our downstairs heater has gone out (praise the Lord the upstairs still works), anyways we can't get anyone out until Friday so needless to say it has been quite cold in our house in the mornings & we have had to get creative...like eating breakfast in hooded jackets and playing with hats on :) The cold has been making it very easy to complain :)
But today, despite all that has been the most wonderful morning & such a picture of the joy children bring to your life at the most needed times. First, I was woken up my a sweet kiss from my beloved (after really being woken by his jump roping downstairs) :) then as I came downstairs dreading the greeting from the cold, Josh had a roaring fire already going warming up the den, then we filled our tummys with delicious and warm pancakes to mark the new Pancake Wednesday, and sipped tea together before he left for work. Then after cleaning up the kitchen and sitting in front of the fire to warm up, Abigail woke up in the best mood just laughing away upstairs. She greatly enjoyed (enhaled) her pancakes & eggs and then was so delightful as I had to set up some toys in front of the fire, we spread a big blanket out and just played right there all cozy together & she couldn't have been happier! We were reading some Mickey Mouse books when I happened to realize He was about to come on TV, which is a big treat for Abigail to watch a show, but since i was trying to confine her to the warmth we turned it on, just in time and she just lit up and laughed the whole show while, going around and around the coffee table. Then as a perfect cue, as soon as the show was done she started yawning for morning nap, & to a mother's relief had a huge poopy (before) she went down, which ensures she will rest well!
It may not sound like much, but to me it was just one of those perfect mornings with my family that remind me how truly blessed I am & encourage me to enjoy all of God's sweet gifts!
